

John Williams
John Edward Williams was born in Clarksville, Texas, on 29 August 1922 and died in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on 3 March 1994. The American writer and poet made his debut in 1948 with the novel 'Nothing But the Night' but is famous today for his third novel, 'Stoner', published in 1965. At the time of publication, the book was not very successful but it was rediscovered in the early 2000s, becoming a worldwide bestseller years after the death of its author.
