Agatha Christie
Agatha Mary Clarissa Christie, Lady Mallowan, was born in Torquay, England, on 15 September 1890, and died in Winterbrook on 12 January 1976. The English writer is considered one of the most important authors of mystery books, thanks to her successful series featuring Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple, but she has also written numerous plays and many short stories, as well as somenon-crime novels. The enormous success of her books has led her to become the second most translated British writer in the world, after William Shakespeare.
