Road safety in a cartoon
Making sure everyone is aware of the active role they play on the roads has always been one of Pirelli’s priorities. And it has managed to achieve this through some of the educational activities that the Pirelli Foundation, together with the Sustainability and Future Mobility Department, has carried out in partnership with the Polizia Stradale, the Italian traffic police.
It is no coincidence that the week from 14 to 17 September 2019 – around the National Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims – was chosen for an in-depth study of the matter at Wow Spazio Fumetto in Milan.
Testimony from police officers and historical materials from the Foundation were offered to primary and secondary school classes, who were able to learn more about the dangers that lurk on our roads. Above all, they learnt the ten golden rules of road safety introduced by the FIA in 2015 that every user – pedestrians, cyclists and drivers – must respect.
The meetings also included a conversation about the very topical themes, which are closely felt by the younger generations, of sustainable mobility, smart cities and, more generally, the fundamental role of tyres in road safety.
