James Graham Ballard
James Graham Ballard was born in Shanghai, China, on 15 November, 1930 and died in Shepperton, England, on 19 April, 2009. Ballard was a highly experimental writer, inspired by the style and themes of surrealist painting; he was known in particular for his dark works of science fiction located in dystopic settings, but also for his novels that drew on his personal experiences in China during the Second World War. His most famous books include “The Empire of the Sun”, “High-Rise” and “Running Wild”.
