A guide to industrial tourism
There has been talk of industrial tourism for some years now, also in Italy, to discover the identity and beauty of our country, off the beaten tracks. Jacopo Ibello, the creator and president of the Save Industrial Heritage project, has written the first guide to places for industrial tourism, published by Morellini. We are taken on a journey through the history and current state of industry in Italy: architecture, landscapes, factories that have been abandoned, turned into museums, or converted for new purposes and, especially, company foundations, museums and company archives, as well as active production sites that illustrate the close bond between production and their surroundings, be they in rural, urban or mountain settings. This guide has nearly 300 entries, divided by region and geographic areas, and it could naturally not be without an entry devoted to the Pirelli Foundation and to its activities to promote the Group’s corporate culture. A useful means to learn about the geography of the Made in Italy label. Guida al Turismo industriale Jacopo Ibello Morellini Editore, 2020
