About a Tyre
This is the title of the photography exhibition that opened on Monday, 11 April, at the Pirelli Foundation. The project, resulting from the collaboration between the Foundation and NABA (the New Milan Academy of Fine Arts), involved 11 students from various Academy courses (Painting and Visual Arts, Media Design and Multimedia Arts, Communication Design, and Fashion Design, among others).
The students were asked to interpret concepts such as innovation, research, sustainability, excellence and change, and observed the values of the Pirelli industrial philosophy from new points of view, expressing them in completely unique ways and translating them through the language of photography.
The photographic exhibition About a Tyre, which opened at the Pirelli Foundation in the spring of 2011, arose from collaboration between the Foundation and NABA-Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti Milano, and showed the outcome of a challenge for eleven students from different courses: to interpret the values of Pirelli’s industrial culture from new points of view. The result was a display of unique creativity in the art of photography, shown in the form of large “sails”, each with its own powerful symbolism.
